Shri L. Chandrasekar, IFS, assumed office as the Chief Vigilance Officer of NLCIL on 09.04.2021. Shri L. Chandrasekar, IFS belongs to 1997 batch of Indian Forest Service.A native of Tiruchirapalli, he graduated from Tamilnadu Agricultural University (TNAU), Coimbatore in Forestry. He completed his professional training in Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy (IGNFA), Dehradun. He also has completed his PG Diploma in Public Policy and Management from IIM, Bangalore. At present he is pursuing his Ph.D. in Forestry from Tamilnadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore. As a part of Forestry training programs, he has visited USA, Finland and Russia. He attended Public Administration Module from Maxwell School of Public Policy, Syracuse University, USA. Starting his Professional Career as Assistant Deputy Conservator of Forests in Kerala Forest Department in Thrissur Forest Division,our CVO on his promotion as Deputy Conservator of Forests, worked as Divisional Forest Officer in Kothamangalam, Palakkad, Silent Valley National Park, North Wayanad and Parambikulam Tiger Reserve. He also served as Principal of Forest Training School at Walayar. On Deputation to Government of India, he served as Lecturer in Central Academy for State Forest Service in Coimbatore. After being promoted as Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF) served as CCF (Social Forestry) in Ernakulam. After that served as CCF Palakkad territorial circle and Custodian of vested/ private forests, Kerala. Before assuming charge as Chief Vigilance Officer, NLCIL, he worked as Deputy Inspector General of Forests (Central) in Integrated Regional Office of Ministry of Envt. Forests and Climate Change, Chennai.
